What's new in the Gumtrue mobile app

This release is about what happens right after you take an order. The app hands you the document you need to print, lets you correct a confirmed order without going back to the office, and stops a direct sale billing a weekly customer twice. Your basket is also kept safe if you get interrupted.

Orders and documents

  • Print the right document straight away: Confirming an order takes you directly to the document you need to print, with options for a Delivery Note, Invoice, or no document when applicable.
  • A smooth experience for drivers: Drivers who don’t have permission to view invoices will automatically receive a delivery note instead.
  • Consistent document handling: Whether an order is taken from the basket or the order sheet, documents are now handled the same way.
  • Amend confirmed orders from your phone: Confirmed orders can be amended directly from the app by opening them back in the basket. You’ll also be told whether the changes will affect stock or only update the invoice.
  • Clearer messages when changes aren’t possible: If an order can’t be amended, or a product is no longer in the catalogue, you’ll now see a clear explanation instead of the change failing without any indication.

Selling on the spot

  • Sell now understands weekly customers: A direct sale to a weekly customer goes onto their week rather than raising a separate invoice for the same goods, and the app tells you it will appear on the weekly invoice at the end of the week.
  • The right document after a direct sale: A weekly sale prints the order and a normal sale prints the invoice, so what you hand over always matches how the customer is billed.

Fewer interruptions

  • Your basket survives an interruption: A part built order is kept, so a phone call, a flat battery or a closed app does not cost you the basket you were working on.
  • A clear message during maintenance: If the system is briefly unavailable the app now shows a proper maintenance screen and clears it by itself once the system is back, rather than failing without explanation.
  • Payments cannot be taken twice: If the signal drops while a payment is going through, trying again records the payment once, not twice.
  • Better on a tablet: Screens now make use of the extra width on tablets and larger phones instead of stretching a phone layout across them.
  • Barcode scanning is smoother: Scanning asks for the camera permission once, in one place, and the screen responds more quickly.
